CONffIDENCE Open Day at Rapid Methods Europe 2010

Rapid Methods Europe 2010
proudly announces that it will host the CONffIDENCE Open Day on Wednesday afternoon 27 January 2010. The CONffIDENCE research project  (Seventh Framework Programme, FP7) aims to further improve food safety in Europe by the development of faster and more cost-efficient methods for the detection of a wide range of chemical contaminants in different food and feed commodities. These methods will not only save precious time in ever faster production cycles, but will also permit more food/ feed samples to be monitored due to the lower cost per test. In combination with the broadened spectrum of detectable residues and contaminants the CONffIDENCE project will significantly increase food safety in Europe. Participants in the CONff IDENCE project are granted a special registration fee for Rapid Methods Europe 2010.

2nd TNO Beneficial Microbes Conference

The final programme of the 2nd TNO Beneficial Microbes Conference - the international conference on the health impact and future potential of beneficial microbes - is now available and registration is open! The conference, which will take place in Noordwijkerhout, the Netherlands, 15-17 March 2010, will highlight the most recent advances in the understanding of the mechanisms behind the health benefit of probiotics and how the endogenous microbiota influences health and disease. Novel tools will be presented and the implementation of systems biology in this research area will be highlighted. An important aspect is application of beneficial microbes, both through probiotics and prebiotics for product development in the food and feed industry.
