Antimicrobial Growth Promoters: Worldwide Ban on the Horizon?
The International Debate Conference for the Feed & Food Chain
including the mini-symposium on recent advances in the analysis of AGPs and related products

Date:

31 January 2005-1 February 2005

Venue:

Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin, Noordwijk aan Zee, the Netherlands

Recent legislative developments in the European Union and USA, recommendations by the World Health Organization, initiatives taken by the food chain, and consumer concerns all point to a (voluntary) widespread ban of antibiotic feed additives for animal growth promotion. In particular, Regulation (EC) 1831/2003 lays down provisions phasing out the authorisations of antimicrobial growth promoters (AGPs) in the European Union as from 1 January 2006.

With the ban of AGPs in the European Union in sight and a general shift towards a search for alternative products and strategies to fill the gap, the conference strives to bring together the knowledge and experience of the stakeholders in the feed and food chain. Antimicrobial Growth Promoters: Worldwide Ban on the Horizon? - the international debate conference for the feed & food chain - reflects the state of AGPs and alternatives today and discusses the way forward. Keep abreast of the latest on threats/benefits of banning AGPs in animal nutrition and opportunities/drawbacks of using alternatives.

Antimicrobial Growth Promoters: Worldwide Ban on the Horizon? - the international debate conference for the feed & food chain - is of key importance to the feed industry, feed additives supplying industry, scientists specialised in animal nutrition and R&D of feed additives, food manufactures, regulatory authorities and (non)governmental bodies, consumers and their organisations.

Join the experts at informative sessions, participate in the satellite mini-symposium, and take part in the panel discussion.
